____________________________________________________________________

I know that this probably has been a crazy moment in time for you. Please call me if you need to talk or for prayer. Andrea is also available for prayer/chat.

We love you guys so much & are going to get through this together!

By now, if you've listened to our state and federal government, you are probably feeling like a prisoner and probably a little afraid!

But did you know we are children of God? We are not slaves or detainees... we are children of the most high God, Jesus! And for those that believe it's even deeper.

We are chosen, adopted by God! If we believe in Jesus (and His death and resurrection), & place our faith in Him alone as Lord- we truly are His children! And He is our dad, or daddy. ABBA Father! We are His sons & daughters!

The Holy Spirit wants us to know that He is real! He bears witness inside us and all around us. And by our praise we bear witness to Him!

Find time daily to pray, read God's word, journal, find a comfortable & quiet spot to listen to and worship God. There is a great worship music link below.

Personally, ARISE, I really need God's love and comfort right now! I can't walk, our world's in chaos, our church, school, & many parts of my life are on hold! My ordination & my wife's graduation has been cancelled, & probably our May trip to Israel too! And that's just me! HOW ARE YOU? HOW HAS THIS AFFECTED YOU? Journal this and send me a picture if you want to talk about it. I know God is with us, and I'm asking Him to give us deep comfort during these troubled times! AND HE IS! His name is Emmanuel- God with us.

Is it possible that God wants us to slow down and focus more on Him, & His Spirit? When was the last time that you truly sat quiet before Jesus without distractions?

This may be the reminder you need to do something about this now.

Take a moment to meditate on this verse below.

Psalm 46:10- "Be still and know that I am God."

List some of the things that distract you from a real relationship with God.

Which of these things do you need to stop or put on pause right now to pursue intimacy with God? How can you do this? Will you do this?

Are you guilty of taking the Holy Spirit for granted? If so, how can you begin to reverse that trend in your life?

Consider the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32. Also consider the different characters: The father, the prodigal son, the oldest son, the servants, the pig's owner, The party people. Please read below.

The Parable of the Prodigal Son

11 And he said, "There was a man who had two sons. 12 And the younger of them said to his father, 'Father, give me the share of property that is coming to me.' And he divided his property between them. 13 Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property in reckless living. 14 And when he had spent everything, a severe famine arose in that country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to[b] one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs. 16 And he was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything.

17 "But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants."' 20 And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.'[c] 22 But the father said to his servants,[d] 'Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. 23 And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. 24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.' And they began to celebrate.

25 "Now his older son was in the field, and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 And he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. 27 And he said to him, 'Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has received him back safe and sound.' 28 But he was angry and refused to go in. His father came out and entreated him, 29 but he answered his father, 'Look, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed your command, yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might celebrate with my friends. 30 But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your property with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him!' 31 And he said to him, 'Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. 32 It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.'"

May you be empowered by the Holy Spirit and Emboldened by Him To approach God as your daddy. May your Spirit bear witness that you are a child of God! May your spirit cry out "ABBA, DADDY," probably like the prodigal son's did after returning home where he always belonged!

Again, I encourage you to spend some time in prayer. Ask God to draw you closer to himself. Pray that his Holy Spirit would increase your intimacy as a child of the living God.

Thank you for joining us tonight. Please reach out via text to Pastor Scott (925) 435-4813, email scottm@tbs.org, KakaoTalk, or Facebook. Or Andrea (925) 586-2441, singonlytoworship@gmail.com, Kakaotalk, or Facebook. Please reach out to us!

We plan on hosting & posting worship, message, and prayer/thanks from 11:15-12:15 here on Sunday via YouTube & Friday's from 7:30-8:30 pm. Please join us & comment or ask questions!

Please reserve this time for spiritual growth: Only two hours each week.  For now, I will create videos/curriculum in advance and post them the day of.  Soon, though, I would like to try to go "live."  But we are still working out the kinks.

Blessings,

Pastor Scott
